N and I couldn’t agree on one picture to share with everyone so we both took one that best represented us 🙂
Feel free to guess which pic was mine 🙂
So now it is official! We are expecting our first this August – which is probably going to come waaaaay too fast! I had the best of intentions to start a blog to keep everybody up to date about what was happening (and to keep all things baby from overtaking my facebook feed), but then I got tired.
Like – REALLY tired. I haven’t slept this much since college! Thank goodness work shuts down over the holidays, and that was when the worst of the exhaustion hit, so I could sleep 12 – 14 hours a day without it really affecting anything too seriously. But, happily, as far as first trimester symptoms go, that was it! No morning sickness or nausea, no crazy cravings. I told my doctor (who N and I ADORE) that I am the most boring pregnant lady ever.
Baby is doing really well and at the first trimester screen was actually registering a few days older than it actually is (but not enough to change the due date – just big and healthy 🙂 Baby, according to the nurse, was also really well behaved because it stayed in the right position while she was taking the measurements, was really cute (but really – I’m sure she says that about all of them), and has long fingers. Pictorial evidence of said claims can be found below.
Baby preparations are swinging into full gear. We are down to the short list for names for both genders and have secured the appropriate gmail addresses for all of our options. We are also starting to fix up a few nagging things around the house so that we can focus on transforming the spare bedroom into a nursery once we are ready. We are circling around a few ideas we both like, but nothing is set in stone yet.
What I’m missing – being able to stay awake for any amount of time.
What I’m looking forward to – telling people!
